Best Hair Clippers in 2025

BaBylissPRO FXONE Professional Cordless Clipper

The best overall hair clipper you could ever get your hands on, in my opinion, is the BaBylissPRO FXONE device.

This clipper has a total of 4 color variants, its housing made with titanium, ultra-thin fade blade does the grooming backed up by a brushless motor, and let’s not mention the flexibility in battery usage.

Highlight Features

  • Ultra-thin Fade Blade (FX8022B) can perform all types of fade cuts
  • N1 Brushless motor torques at 6,800 RPM
  • Titanium housing, knurled-barbell grip and 13 ounces of weight
  • 5-detent lever stretches between 0.1 mm to 0.9 mm
  • Easy to swap battery renders it a killer tool for a barbershop

Starting off with the blade, the FXONE features a Ultra-Thin Metal Injection Molded (MIM) Fade Blade (FX8022B) - long story short - a blade with unique fading capabilities.

BaBylissPRO FXONE Housing

The shortest cutting length is 0.1 mm - living up to zero-gap functionalities even without any guard - the black graphite material in the blade protects your scalp from tugs or cuts.

Also, because of the 6,800 RPM brushless motor, this blade can perform bulk trims with ease and caters to a very diverse array of hair types and textures.

BaBylissPRO FXONE Blade

This N1 motor doesn’t produce much noise or heat, presenting itself to be an ideal fit for longer grooming jobs and sustaining harsh usage.

Another savior in this regard is the titanium shell for the handle. FXONE feels safe to operate and can sustain external pressure or damage very easily.

Its cylindrical design, 12.9 ounces of weight and knurled-barbell grip have given me a superior maneuvering experience - something I’ve never experienced before!

BaBylissPRO FXONE Grip

The minimal vibration also becomes a key factor in ensuring grip. FXONE features a robust adjustment lever with 5-deter settings.

Between 0.1 mm to 0.9 mm, it maintains the lengths statically and the gradient creations like fading or tapering establish a class of their own.

With a removable battery that holds charge for 2.5 hours and 4-bar smart LED indicator, barbers are certainly going to love the perks this hair clipper brings to the table!

BaBylissPRO FXONE Lever

There are 6 premium guide combs at the lengths of 1.5 mm to 13 mm help you deliver short to medium haircuts in the most neat fashion.

It’s worth mentioning that there’s a built-in oil chamber in the BaBylissPRO FXONE which keeps the blade & motor lubricated, reduces vibration and keeps the overall temperature cooler.

BaBylissPRO FXONE Battery Charging Dock with Clipper

I could go on and on about the FXONE, but from this brief highlight, you should be able to understand why it’s priced this way and the grooming achievements it can bring you!

Things I Like

  • Every aspect of the hair clipper feels and performs premium
  • Long-lasting investment for professionals
  • User-friendly design and requires least amount of maintenance

Areas for Improvement

  • Can’t charge the battery without the battery charging dock (included in the box)

BaBylissPRO GoldFX+ Barber Clipper/Trimmer

Second in my list of top hair clippers is the classic BaBylissPRO GoldFX+ device. It can be interpreted as both a trimmer and a hair clipper for its unique properties.

This device mostly caters to grooming shorter hair and fine tuning a look, along with its expertise on your beard - highly versatile to say the least!

Highlight Features

  • Standard Tooth T-Blade (FX707Z) is zero-gapped & skin-friendly
  • N1 Brushless motor torques at 7,200 RPM
  • Battery lasts for around 3-4 hours with a full charge
  • Versatile - works on hair and beard
  • Blade gap can be modified using tool inside the package
BaBylissPRO GoldFX+ Housing

If you’re a regular visitor to barbershops, you’ve definitely come across this BaBylissPRO device at least once in your lifetime.

Barbers usually utilize the GoldFX+ to line up your hair and beard bodies, along with some up close trims around your hair.

The Standard Tooth T-Blade comes in very handy for the cause. Its Gold DLC/Titanium material build keeps your skin protected at all times.

BaBylissPRO GoldFX+ Blade

That’s one of the major reasons zero-overlap trims don’t cause your skin any sort of discomfort, so much so that styling a beard also becomes a viable option.

This blade can trim through diverse hair textures with ease - all thanks to the N1 Brushless motor running at 7,200 RPM - similar to the FXONE.

Although the handle is crafted using aluminum, it doesn’t heat up as much and the noise, vibration remain at a very soothing degree.

BaBylissPRO GoldFX+ grip

Speaking of the housing, it has a knurled-barbell grip for ergonomic superiority. Its 8.5 ounces of weight feels like you’re handling feathers.

The compact, cylindrical shape, reinforced grip textures and lighter weight let you grab it at almost any angle and gripping pattern.

That’s why the GoldFX+ is universally regarded as a precision trimming device, capable of not only outlining, but also for creating intricate designs on hair bodies and beards.

BaBylissPRO GoldFX+ Charging

There are two charging ports to recharge the device - a USB Type-C and a traditional BaBylissPRO port. Battery life lasts around 3-4 hours, which is more than plenty.

If you don’t want the GoldFX+ to trim at zero length, you have the liberty to alter its gap using the gap adjustment tool you’ll find inside the package.

BaBylissPRO GoldFX+ mostly attracts professional groomers, but home consumers tend to opt for it as a long term, durable investment.

BaBylissPRO GoldFX+ on Beard

From hair trimming to beard grooming, this hair clipper is a marvelous tool to own and finalize a look in such a way that could easily cost you over $50 at a local barbershop!

Things I Like

  • Blades are very sharp, up close and comfortable on the skin
  • Motor is very powerful, yet doesn’t heat up or cause a lot of noise
  • Handy, effective and versatile

Areas for Improvement

  • Can feel pricey for personal use

Wahl 5-Star Magic Clip Cordless Clipper

This one is a barbers’ favorite - the cordless variant of Wahl Magic Clip. It’s a tool that’s easy to use, yet over time with expertise, the possibilities become limitless!

Grooming experts and critics often refer to the Magic Clip as the single, refined clipping device to ever have existed, marking it as the best hair clipper for barbers and home consumers alike.

Highlight Features

  • Stagger-Tooth Blade built using Crunch Blade technology
  • 5,700 rotary motor delivers barber-grade performance
  • Highly durable, ergonomic and good-looking handle
  • Taper lever spans between 0.5 mm to 1.2 mm
  • 10 ounces of weight, 100 minute battery life
Wahl 5-Star Magic Clip Housing

Starting off with the design, Magic Clip seems like a traditional tool that was built following the earlier rendition of Wahl hair clippers.

But along with that idea comes a lot of advanced, subtle touches of ergonomic curves and a dedicated thumb rest spot that extend relentless and tirefree gripping patterns.

My variant is the one colored in burgundy with golden accented text on the middle and the black plastic base at the back. Three more options are available on the market for your choosing.

Wahl 5-Star Magic Clip Blade

In the matter of the blade, Magic Clip employs a Stagger-tooth blade, not zero-gapped, but highly useful for creating textured cuts, fades and blends.

Since the blade technology is Crunch Blade, a trademark by Wahl, it has to do with your auditory and tactile sensation. When you’ll trim using this tool, the sound and type of vibration will inform you about successful strokes.

It’s tough to explain with words and something you have to experience yourself to understand. Long story short, it renders hair grooming highly intuitive and enjoyable.

Wahl 5-Star Magic Clip Guards

With a 5,700 rotary motor backing up the blade, I’ve found out that Magic Clip can also be a great tool for bulk trimming your hair - you’ll end up with an even hair body with minimum strokes.

Other than that, its expertise spans from blending, fading, tapering to textured cuts - everything a barber generally dreams to have in their device, considering the 0.5-1.2 mm span on the taper lever.

And due to the easy to use functionality, Magic Clip can also be a home grooming tool, if you consider paying the price as a long term investment.

Wahl 5-Star Magic Clip Adjustment Lever

Magic Clip has a battery life of around 100 minutes and can be used with its charging cord connected to power, the lighter 10 ounces of weight does give you a lot of flexibility.

Wahl offers you 8 premium guards to craft a wide variety of haircuts and it treats all hair types and densities equally.

So, would you be willing to buy a Magic Clip, considering it satisfies your grooming expectations? Let me know your thoughts on this one!

Wahl 5-Star Magic Clip Grip

Things I Like

  • Lightweight yet robust and tactile housing design
  • Blade & lever can perform versatile hairdos like fades, blends, bulk trimming
  • Favored by barbers for its high-quality outcomes

Areas for Improvement

  • Not meant for zero looks and balding hair

Wahl 5-Star Cordless Senior

Now let me introduce you to a niche hair clipper that’s essentially the finest for balding and zero looks, along with drawing up close fades and blends.

Yes, I’m talking about Wahl Senior, the brand’s most powerful and luxurious hair clipper with superior performance and has a personality of its own.

Highlight Features

  • Adjustable 0000 Blade (#2191) trims at 0.25 mm length
  • Equipped with Wahl’s most powerful V9000 rotary motor
  • Lever spans between 0.25 mm to 1.2 mm
  • 80 minutes battery life with corded functionality
  • 13 ounces of weight & 3 premium guards included
Wahl 5-Star Cordless Senior Housing

Initially, what struck me as attractive for the Senior was its housing design - a dark knight black paired with fabulous accents and curves.

After getting my hands on it, which is over 2 years ago, I realized its prowess stretches way beyond the outer looks.

For instance, the curves are strategically placed for particular gripping patterns you’d need for zero-gap trims and crafting balding blends.

Wahl 5-Star Cordless Senior Blade

Wahl incorporated their most powerful V9000 rotary motor with the Senior, letting it generate striking outcomes with minimal strokes.

It has a maximum speed of 7,200 RPM without heating up or causing vibration excessively. The motor or crunching sound can feel a little loud to certain consumers, and relentless use could heat up the metal base of the housing.

Every glide feels magical, and I must give credit to the blade unit as well. It doesn’t have a catchy name though, Wahl calls it 0000 (#2191) adjustable blade.

Wahl 5-Star Cordless Senior Adjustment Lever

At the closest setting, it’s able to trim at 0.25 mm length - it’s the closest to zero outcomes you’re going to get out of a premium hair clipper.

Its adjustment lever stretches this length up to 1.2 mm. Such a variance in length presents the Senior to be a master of shorter fades and blends.

To make things more interesting, you can attach the barber-grade guide combs offered inside the package. There’s only 3, but for shorter haircuts like buzz, crew or fades, that’s all you’re going to need.

Wahl 5-Star Cordless Senior Grip

13 ounces of weight is well-balanced, preventing fatigue yet giving you sufficient weight to feel anchored as you perform precise strokes and cuts.

Its battery lasts for around 80 minutes with a full charge. Like every other Wahl 5-Star device, you have the liberty of corded usage should the battery run out.

Wahl Senior has the potential to treat balding hair and craft out hairdos that are close to the skin - ensuring comfort, safety and efficiency for the groomer!

Wahl 5-Star Cordless Senior Guards

Things I Like

  • The 0000 blade is by far the closest and safest on the market
  • Taper lever pushes the boundaries for versatile haircuts
  • Highly powerful and capable of treating all sorts of hair equally

Areas for Improvement

  • Not meant for bulk trimming longer hair

Wahl 5-Star Legend Cordless

Something more traditional and seemingly less tactile from the Wahl 5-Star line of hair clippers is the Wahl Legend cordless.

The title itself alludes to the legendary craftsmanship from the brand and it satisfies the demands of groomers preferring longer fades and textured cuts.

Highlight Features

  • Traditional design with tactile texture over the handle
  • Wedge Blade (#2228) trims at 0.7 mm length
  • Rotary motor torques at 6,500 RPM
  • Lever adjustment offers range between 0.7 mm to 1.7 mm
  • 100 minute battery life & 11 ounces of weight
Wahl 5-Star Legend Cordless Housing

Wahl Legend has only one color variant and it's a combination of burgundy, gold and a glossy mirror finish down the middle.

It has a length of 6.5”, a standardized size in the top-tier 5-Star line from Wahl. This length is generally preferred by professionals as it helps out generating precise stroking animations.

With a weight of only 10 ounces like the Magic Clip, I’d say it’s fit for longer days at a barbershop and less fatiguing for self-grooming purposes, contrasted with tools from other brands.

Wahl 5-Star Legend Cordless Blade

One of the determining factors here is the Wedge Blade - it’s not something for regular bulk trimming but something that helps you texture up the hair body.

You should ideally be working on a medium to shorter length gradient. Since the shortest trimming length is 0.7 mm with the lever stretching it up to 1.7 mm, you get a variance of 1.0 mm.

With this gap, longer fades are deemed to be the strongest characteristic for the Legend, along with of course, textured cuts ensured by the longer, sharper and thinner blade teeth.

Wahl 5-Star Legend Cordless Adjustment Lever

Unlike a lot of other Wahl clippers, Legend blades can be quite deadly if you operate without caution or apply too much pressure. Gentle strokes directly against the skin will keep things under control.

Legend shares the same V5000 rotary motor with Magic Clip and it runs at 6,500 RPM. While you can blend or texture up varieties of hair categories, it’s not meant for bulk removal.

The robustness of the exterior is evident from the metallic lever and overall sturdy build, despite the traditional take on the design.

Wahl 5-Star Legend Cordless Guards

Utilizing the subtle texture on the handle and the plastic base at the back, gripping and maneuvering has posed no issue for me so far.

Legend has a 100 minute battery life with corded functionality. It’s all in all a niche barber clipper for blends and textures, while attracting home groomers who desire such styling without spending extra.

With a total of 8 premium guide combs, lasting housing, specialized blades and a standard motor, Wahl Legend earns its spot alongside the finest in the industry!

Wahl 5-Star Legend Cordless Grip

Things I Like

  • Wedge blade blends hair length variances better than a lot of other tools
  • Simple yet effective offer unmatched grooming outcomes
  • Quite easy to master and learn over time

Areas for Improvement

  • Very niche product, not meant for versatile use

Andis Master Corded/Cordless Clipper

Now, let me present to you the master of all hair clippers, a device favored by professionals for its build and performance - Andis Master corded edition.

There’s a cordless variant available in the market as well, many groomers opt for that one for convenience. But it costs a lot more and you wouldn’t be getting relentless performance.

Highlight Features

  • 000-1 Carbon-Steel Blade make it a master of versatile grooming
  • Magnetic motor produces 14,000 SPM for diverse hair types
  • 5-notch adjustment lever maintains selected length
  • 2.4 meter standard length cord for barbers
  • Metal housing can withstand anything thrown at it
Andis Master Housing 1

The Master from Andis is designed as a convenient tool for professionals, implicated by its one-handed design.

With a smooth, metal finish, I’m not a big fan of this design philosophy, especially because of the power slider placement.

Initially, I accidentally set it off while grooming as the slider is placed right beneath my thumb with a full wraparound grip, but eventually I learned my way around it.

Andis Master Blade

This metal is mostly aluminum, yet the weight of the Master cranks up to 23 ounces, making it one of the heaviest hair clippers I’ve ever utilized.

However, this particular build approach makes the Master an invincible tool which can retain its integrity no matter how harshly you use it.

Another thing you might have to pay heed to could be the 120V/60Hz voltage requirement. While North American consumers won’t be bothered by it, groomers from other regions should take a note of it.

Andis Master Grip

For the blade, Andis Master utilizes a carbon-steel unit that stretches between 000 to 1 setting. This extent lets Master craft a wide array of fades and blends with ease!

Also, due to the thickness of the blade itself and the blade teeth alignment, you’ll be able to apply bulk trimming on hair bodies at your preferred length.

Master makes good use of the magnetic motor that can generate up to 14,000 SPM. Using this, you’ll experience smooth strokes no matter how adverse the hair texture or condition might be.

Andis Master Lever

I’m a fan of Andis Master’s adjustment lever with its 5 specific taper length setting, where the lever remains fixed for measured outcomes.

Because of this, you’ll have greater control over your blends and even produce textured cuts at will - giving you creative liberty in the world of grooming!

My take is that - Master is too heavy-duty of a device to be harnessed by home groomers and professionals with advanced expertise should consider buying it for long-term use!

Andis Master Housing 2

Things I Like

  • Blade is gentle on skin despite aggressive cutting capability
  • Motor power is well-suited for professional use
  • Traditional interpretation of all-rounder hair clipper

Areas for Improvement

  • One-handed design could improve a couple of factors
  • Metal housing can heat up if run relentlessly
  • Prone to slip for sweaty hands

BaBylissPRO FX3 FXX3CB Clipper

Another unique hair clipper with a blend of trimmer capabilities is the BaBylissPRO FX3. It’s one of the more modern and advanced tools aimed at rendering grooming a convenient affair.

From its carbon-fiber handle to ultra-sharp blade generating crisp results, the FX3 is indeed a luxury product that a lot of groomers these days aspire to own and use on a regular basis.

Highlight Features

  • Ultra-thin Fade blade crafted with titanium carbon-nitride for skin comfort
  • 2 power modes lets you groom between 6,000 and 7,000 RPM
  • BaBylissPRO trademark Brushless engine keep things cool and silent
  • Huge 5 hour battery life highlighted by a 4-bar LED indicator
  • Blade gap can be adjusted to zero using slider

Let’s begin with the housing design for the BaBylissPRO FX3. It’s designed like a torpedo, narrower toward the end as the gradual width change accommodates for different finger lengths.

BaBylissPRO FX3 Housing

The exterior is made using carbon-fiber, evidenced by the striped lines on the sides and at the back. It also serves as ergonomic gripping points for a no-slip experience.

With only 10 ounces of weight, maneuvering it around at versatile angles is no challenge and it encourages groomers to experiment with new and unique hairdos.

BaBylissPRO FX3 Blade

As per the blade unit goes, it’s an adjustable Fade Blade built and the teeth are indeed ultra-thin - creating crispy results and lets you get close to the skin without complications.

Since the blade material is titanium and a blend of carbon-nitride, it not only prevents rust but also renders direct skin to blade experience a comforting one.

Using the slider right above the power knob, the FX3 blade teeth gap can be adjusted, serving the same functions as a lever.

BaBylissPRO FX3 Blade Gap Slider & Power Slider Close Up

While it’s not as swift as traditional hair clippers, this slider sets the blade gap at particular settings at precisely 0.8 – 1.1 – 1.4 – 1.7 – 2.0 mm, calling it a 5-detent taper.

The motor unit is very unique - it’s a Brushless motor collaborated with Ferrari in the production, and the performance due to that is indeed superior in many regards.

Using the power slider, you can swap between 6,000 and 7,000 RPM settings as per your needs and it generates a sharp, deep sound with a satisfying crunching noise while trimming.

BaBylissPRO FX3 Grip

It also heats up way less than the other hair clippers in my list, the motor technology and carbon-fiber build keep that in check.

The battery life is also surprisingly long - around 5 hours with a full charge and the remaining life is indicated through the 4-bar LED lights on the handle.

Zero trims on shorter hair, almost every type of fade, taper, precision grooming, outlining - BaBylissPRO FX3 excels at all of these and more - justifying its higher price point.

BaBylissPRO FX3 Accessories

Things I Like

  • High-functioning and versatile clipper/trimmer device
  • Blades are sharp yet kind on skin
  • Tons of accessories offering a complete kit

Areas for Improvement

  • Can feel expensive unless purchased for professional use

Oster Classic 76 Professional Hair Clipper

Oster Classic 76 is hands down a barber-grade hair clipper and I wouldn’t even dare recommend it for personal use at home.

You’ll get a total of 5 color choices for this model with optional accessories set spanning between just the device to a total of 7 pieces.

Highlight Features

  • 20 ounces ensure static, grounded strokes for even outcomes
  • 2 blades included inside the package
  • Single speed pivot motor feels like a jet engine
  • Very strong housing renders is highly durable
  • Hot swappable blade system caters to faster grooming
Oster Classic 76 Housing

There’s a lot to talk about when it comes to the Classic 76. While I’m talking about the traditional corded variant for this, you can still check out the cordless Classic 76 if it caters to your requirements.

Now, let’s talk about its housing. Classic 76 is one of the trademark Oster tools that’s crafted with durable material in a cylindrical shape.

Vertical ergonomic lines stretch down to the end to ensure a firm grip, but your fingers must be long enough to fully wrap around the handle.

Oster Classic 76 Blades

You’ll be getting the blade sizes of #000 and #1, the two industry standards for most types of haircuts like bulk grooming to specific styling.

To compensate for the lack of an adjustment lever, Oster has incorporated a hot-swappable blade system that lets you alter blades within a few seconds.

Although blends and fades are not Classic 76’s strong sides, no one can match its performance when it comes to even trims and bulk hair removal.

Oster Classic 76 Grip

As per the motor unit goes, it’s a pivot motor that actually runs at a very high (undisclosed) torque and there’s extensive maintenance required, regarding its carbon-brush replacement and motor lubrication.

To dispense the heat, there are air vents for both intake and exhaust, keeping the housing temperature relatively tolerable for most parts.

Trust me when I tell you, it gets very loud with the Classic 76, so that’s something you should be keeping in mind while operating.

Oster Classic 76 Lubricating Agents

Classic 76 offers a large library of blades and guide combs, but most of these come as aftermarket purchases.

That tells you a lot about this tool - it’s meant to be resided within a barbershop and due to its aggressive performance, must be handled by an expert.

With a wide blade, aggressive motor and long-lasting handle, Oster Classic 76 is a one of a kind tool that I believe should be owned by every barber who is obligated to apply classic haircuts on a regular basis.

Oster Classic 76 Blade Removed

Things I Like

  • Everything is durable and worth the investment in the long run
  • Trims through the densest hair bodies like a knife through butter
  • Thick cord ensured relentless power

Areas for Improvement

  • Heavy, meant only for professionals
  • Direct blade contact can feel harsh if not handled cautiously
  • No adjustment lever
  • Loud, requires regular maintenance

Andis Fade Master, 01690

What if I told you, there’s a top-tier hair clipper that’s dedicated only to crafting almost every possible variant of fade haircuts?

Yes, you guessed it - I’m talking about the Andis Fade Master - a clipping device that’s dedicated to fades and blends of all sorts.

Highlight Features

  • Almost 23 ounces of weight with full metal finish
  • 00000-000 Master Fade Blade goes as close to skin as possible
  • Magnetic motor pairs up perfectly with power cord
  • Generates between 7,200 SPM to 14,400 SPM
  • 5-deter adjustment lever is very specific and useful
Andis Fade Master Housing

Fade Master resembles Master in a lot of ways, some would say that the housing shells are identical! For me, I have to squint my eyes to make out the subtle texts on the chest to discern between the two.

Other than the aluminum housing, the adjustment lever and power button placements feel oddly similar.

Also, the build material for the handle seems quite as much as the same as corded Master. The only varying point feels like the blade unit itself.

Andis Fade Master Blade

In the Fade Master, Andis has incorporated a very up close blade unit that stretches between 00000 and 000 lengths.

If I explain with numbers, the shortest trim you’d get with this should be around 0.1 mm - something truly admired by balding groomers.

For the longest length setting, it should clip at around 0.3-0.4 mm, depending on how much pressure you’re putting on.

Andis Fade Master Lever

With this span, cuts like buzz, shorter fades, blends, tapers - the possibilities of length variance cuts become endless.

But, with such refined blades comes the threat of accidental nicks. Yes, you have to be extra careful and must not glide haphazardly on hair bodies.

Utilizing the same magnetic motor as the Master, Fade Master is capable of producing between 7,200 spins per minute to 14,4000 SPM.

Andis Fade Master Grip

The issues of one-handed design, housing heat up and fixed North American voltage persist. Due to its niche expertise, Fade Master is usually preferred by professionals.

However, if you’re an avid fan of fading and wish to try it out at the comforts of your home, feel free to gram a Fade Master - but mind you, it requires a certain degree of expertise.

The most unique factor, other than the blade, is the lever itself. It latches on to each particular length setting and it renders uncannily perfect blends or fades each time, no other device can be as precise in mimicking a cut.

Andis Fade Master Power Cord

Additionally, it’s not an affordable hair clipper, so expense is another valid concern. But based on my experience, the components are long-lasting and should be worth your money for long-term use.

Things I Like

  • Its niche performance and quality of crafting various fade cuts
  • Up close trims that not a lot of clippers can match
  • Taper lever’s specific length lock

Areas for Improvement

  • Odd power button placement
  • Sweaty palms can see it slip due to metal finish
  • Heats up after 10 minutes of use

Oster Fast Feed, 76023-510

My final instalment in the list of best hair clippers is another classic barber’s tool - a craftsman choice for hairdos like buzz cuts - it’s the corded Oster Fast Feed.

Seemingly compact, the Fast Feed has always been a barber-favored hair clipper that you mostly find at the local barbershops - speaks of its quality and reliability.

Highlight Features

  • Carbonized stainless steel blades prevents rust and cuts fast
  • Whisper Quiet Pivot motor makes less noise
  • Lever lets you adjust gap between 000 to 1 sizes
  • 14.7 ounces of weight without the cord
  • 2.4 meter cord length and 3 guide combs included in the box
Oster Fast Feed Housing

There’s not a lot to say about the Fast Feed from Oster since it’s plain, simple yet effective when it comes to maintaining the professional standards of hair grooming.

While I regarded Fast Feed to be a specialized tool for buzz cuts, its versatility actually stretches across a lot of other shorter hairdos like crew, undercut, Caesar and so on.

That’s not all! If you make use of the length variance of the blade between 000 to 1 sized using the lever, blending and fading on shorter hair are performed using Fast Feed as well!

Oster Fast Feed Blade

Due to the carbonized property of the stainless steel blades, skin doesn’t irritate or even feel slight discomfort during direct contact.

The teeth are slim and sharp, giving you much room for blending hair length variances. Fast Feed is designed for one-handed usage for comb over cuts, so that’s something you should consider, given that it’s a corded tool.

With such a gap in the blade teeth, you can expect the shortest trimming outcome to be around 0.3 mm - which is fair for shorter hairdos.

Oster Fast Feed Grip

Although, one downside here is its weight of around 15 ounces. Longer usage might cause fatigue to your arm and fingers.

One positive aspect here is the Whisper-Quiet Pivot motor that doesn’t produce much sound, but may heat up if used relentlessly.

The vibration is also minimal, thus sort of counterbalances its weight. While the face of the clipper is flat, the sides contain textured lines to remain stuck to your fingers.

Oster Fast Feed Adjustment Lever

Its lever is crafted for one-handed use and the compact handle does help you wrap your finger around for quite taper length adjustment.

You’ll be getting 3 very short guide combs for grooming shorter haircuts as longer trims are not part of Fast Feed’s expertise.

Oster Fast Feed is indeed a superfast hair clipper that aims at making lives easier for the groomers and something every barber should keep in their shop!

Oster Fast Feed Guards

Things I Like

  • Compact design makes it easy to grab
  • Uncommon blade setup makes room for new, short haircuts
  • Motor is powerful yet it doesn’t make a lot of sound

Areas for Improvement

  • Weight is a bit much considering its size

What Makes My Opinion Valid?

I have to stress on my long-term expertise of using hair clippers personally, spanning back almost 6-7 years at this point.

While my goal wasn’t always to find out the best of the best, my deep lying interest in the mechanics and performance of the most popular hair clippers did start me off toward that trajectory.

Over time, I learned what the demands are for both professionals and home groomers and assessed the true extent of performance and build quality of numerous clipping devices in the process.

I have developed a metric system of measuring whether a hair clipper is worthy of being highlighted in such a top-tier rundown, and the ones with top scores are the tools you’ve scrolled past so far!

Which Hair Clipper Would be Best for Your Needs?

You might still be considering your options out of this enormous list of top 10 hair clippers. To aid in your selection process, I’m giving you a few categories to choose from!

For Black Men

Black men usually have textured, coarse hair and not every clipping device will be able to cater to your grooming needs.

Best Hair Clippers for Black Men

Most hair clippers manage to style out shorter textured hair but struggle at bulk removal. They either snag or pull, or in general are very limited in efficiency.

On that note, you can consider BaBylissPRO FX3, Oster Classic 76, Andis Master, BaBylissPRO FXONE and Wahl Magic Clip for the cause.

Of course, the first two tools are going to be more efficient but the latter two are often used by barbers I know to treat black men’s textured hair in a painless manner, to craft out suave hairdos.

For Barbers

Well, every hair clipper in my list is worthy of being handled by a professional on a regular basis, due to their grooming results and robust build quality.

Best Barber Clippers for Professionals

Despite that, there are a few certain tools that I believe are must have for barbers. If you explore yourself, you’ll see that the clippers I’ll mention currently exist in almost all of the premium barbershops!

My list for barbers includes the Wahl Magic Clip, Andis Master, Oster Classic 76, BaBylissPRO GoldFX and Wahl Senior - from higher priority to lower.

For Beginners

Now, what about the beginners? Because not all of these hair clippers are beginner-friendly and require advanced grooming expertise.

Best Hair Clippers for Beginners

Other than the cheaper alternatives in the market, the luxurious tools that even beginners can use are as follows: BaBylissPRO GoldFX, BaBylissPRO FXONE, Wahl Legend and Wahl Magic Clip.

These devices are quite intuitive, easy to use and don’t require extensive care. Wahl Senior could be an honorable mention, but you should consider its super sharp blade and control the gliding animations.

For Cordless Use

I’m going to nominate four hair clippers for cordless functionalities as having any of these tools will ease your grooming life in a general sense.

Best Cordless Hair Clipper

My preferences include Wahl Magic Clip, BaBylissPRO FXONE, BaBylissPRO FX3 and BaBylissPRO GoldFX. Each contains their unique characteristics and are versatile enough to extend beyond one dimensional use.

Also, their battery lives are unmatched by even the top class tools in the market, that too without compromising motor power. Worth looking into!

For Shorter Haircuts

In case you prefer haircuts like buzz, crew or other balding looks, even with some blends, you should look into the devices that are capable of providing you proper support.

Best Hair Clippers for Buzz Cut

For instance, Wahl Senior, Andis Fade Master, Oster Fast Feed and BaBylissPRO GoldFX are tools that dedicatedly trim up close to the skin.

Their blades are zero-overlapped and closest setting haircut results do not exceed the maximum length of 0.4 mm.

Final Thoughts

I wish I could shorten my list of best hair clippers, but the 10 tools I’ve highlighted are so good on their own accord that I failed to eliminate even one of them.

Rather, I had to exclude a few devices because the listing was turning into a research essay. In case you’re curious, let me leave you with a few honorable mentions.

Wahl Balding Clipper is the one for men with receding hairline, whereas Remington Shortcut Pro is the ultimate self-grooming, compact hair clipper.

Fadeking hair clipper is an up and coming tool that gives you the basic flavors of a BaBylissPRO device within budget.

These are definitely worth checking out in my opinion! If you have any recommendations, do let me know, and I’ll try to break them down for you!
